This from the Port of Hood River. Plan ahead for possible delays on Tuesday, Feb. 10, while the Port’s bridge engineer conducts routine electrical and mechanical inspections on the lift span.
The Port’s notice included the proviso “weather permitting” (we’re not sure what this weather permits, except falling on your keester). The Port says all operational testing has been scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 11, and four to six full lifts of the center span will occur between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. (before and after rush hour, that is). Each lift takes approximately 15 minutes.
Port staff will provide traffic control and all efforts will be made to minimize the disruption of traffic flow. Given the extended delays, good to plan your travel accordingly.
