Fresh Start Culinary Arts Program invites anyone interested in catering services in the Gorge to a tasting event on November 1.

The nonprofit culinary training program will be serving tastes of a catered dinner, lunch, breakfast and appetizer buffet. The event is free, and is sponsored by Columbia River Insurance and Columbia Bank.

“With the help of our sponsors, we’re able to present a beautiful menu, showing off what our staff and students can do,” said Fresh Start board chair Kathy Watson.

“We invite all brides, grooms, wedding planners, wedding venues, wineries … anyone, really, who will need catering.”

Watson said the Fresh Start, which began training students last spring, was not up and running soon enough to secure many catering contracts for wedding rehearsal dinner or receptions for 2016.

“We want to make sure the local business and wedding services industry know we’re here and ready!” says Watson.

Interested? You can register for this free event at the Fresh Start web site.

The event will be in the Pioneer Room at Riverside Church, 316 State St., from 4 to 6 p.m.
