Want to pack your holiday pantry for much-o cheap-o?
Then jump into the Hood River Lions Club’s annual grocery raffle, through which you can (maybe) turn (with a little luck) as little as $1 (for a ticket) into $500 worth of groceries (actually, each ticket qualifies for one of two $500 grocery prizes for use at Rosauers Supermarket in Hood River).
Individual Lions will be selling chances the next two weeks, inside the entry to Rosauers. Ticket sales run from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday through the weekend of Nov. 18-20.
Raffle entrants, it should go without saying, can buy as many tickets as they want.
Winners will be drawn shortly after the last day of ticket sales so winners will have time to shop their $500 credits before Thanksgiving and Christmas.
The project is a partnership of Rosauers. All proceeds from the raffle benefit youth activities supported by the Lions Club.
