Now that we’ve had a week of opportunities to share a thought with our District 2 congressional rep, let’s turn our Election Season focus to the local.
Mark your calendars for 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, to attend a Candidate Forum at Columbia Center for the Arts. The event will focus attention on candidates for the Port of Hood River and Hood River Valley Parks and Recreation District boards.
It starts with a casual half hour of meet and greet — with a beverage or two — before focus turns at 6 p.m. to the candidates and their thoughts on issues facing both boards. Visitors will have a chance to ask questions about the issues that matter most to them.
The event is sponsored by the Hood River League of Women Voters, Livable Hood River and the Hood River Valley Residents Committee.
Vote-by-mail ballots begin arriving in local mailboxes the next day.
(Remember, the Buzz is presenting candidate profiles for major contested races in the county. Use the Vote ’17 tab on the hedder bar to choose which race you want to learn more about.)
