POSITION FILLED / Friends of the Columbia Gorge Land Trust (OR), Land Stewardship Coordinator – Seeking experienced, talented individual responsible for the stewardship and management of lands held by the Friends of the Columbia Gorge Land Trust, a supporting organization of Friends of the Columbia Gorge, a 34-year old organization dedicated to the protection of the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area. The position will steward and monitor lands owned or easements held including preparation of administrative and ongoing monitoring documentation of conditions. The Land Steward will oversee contractors and volunteers effectively and efficiently. Applicants should have a history in monitoring land for conservation values. Minimum of five years experience with land trusts, managing volunteers, natural resource management, ecology or a bachelor’s degree in conservation/biology, or related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with grantors, landowners, the public, media, professional colleagues and governmental entities is essential.
