Membership Coordinator, Hood River County Chamber of Commerce. Overview: The Membership Coordinator works closely with members and staff; reports to and works with the Executive Director, must have excellent communication skills, skills in public speaking and be very professional towards members and the community. Be proficient with computer applications, social media, and well organized. Job will require work some weekends and evenings. Duties include, but are not limited to: Maintains membership records in Filemaker, WordPress, Constant Contact, and other software: adding new members to database and website; updating member information; maintaining mailing lists; updating and refining all databases; pulling and organizing categorized lists as needed; Sets up and fulfills new memberships; Works with the ED to recruit new members; Helps ED develop and organize membership prospect lists through leads given by others, reading local newspaper and websites, culling leads from old membership lists, and being on top of new businesses in Hood River County; Coordinates (with bookkeeper) annual renewal billings (done monthly; Manages membership aging reports; Prepares, produces, and sends weekly E-blasts to members; Manages membership events (coffee clatter, business after hours, ribbon-cuttings, etc.) and attends these events; Assists ED with membership classes, lunches, etc.; Assembles and distributes materials to membership community; Makes given updates to website to keep current with member info, events, forms and data, etc.; Proactively tracks member businesses that move, merge, and make other significant changes to offer support/assistance; Assists in contacting members to invite them to events; Supplies ED with monthly New Member list for confirmation by Chamber Board; Works Chamber events as needed (sometimes includes weekends, evenings, and overtime); Manages any membership assistants; Responsible for managing membership fund in Chamber budget. Do you share the Stoke? If high wind gets your motor running, the Columbia Gorge Windsurfing Association in Hood River, Ore., would like to hear from you. We’re looking for an energetic, passionate, full-time year-round advocate of windsurfing. Salary is $30,000. Our new Executive Director will manage a member-based nonprofit, provide the friendly face of our sport throughout the Gorge, and represent the interests of the windsurfing community to the Gorge community. Duties include event and program development and implementation, fund-raising and financial management, communication with members and the community, and a close working relationship with a 15-member board. The ideal candidate will have strong written and oral communication skills to complement a toolbox of desktop computer skills, including a mix of desktop computer skills such as familiarity with word processing, spreadsheets, photo editing and page design applications. The Hood River County Library District, as part of its efforts to set up the district and reopen the library, is searching for an energetic self-starter to fill a part-time temporary position (2/11 thru 5/11) providing administrative support, research and program recommendations to the Library District Board. The candidate will perform a variety of library/clerical tasks including coordinating meetings, preparing agendas and minutes, researching topics as directed by the Library Board, maintaining the library web site, and developing plans for the summer reading program. $15/hour, approximately 20 hours per week.
